Sweet Sixteen

She turned sixteen. Charles and I made breakfast...chocolate croissants, bacon, eggs and hot chocolate...we brought it all on a tray to her bedroom with a dozen pink roses. I cried and couldn't finish the Happy Birthday song. During the day people came over; people who love Anne. Charles had class that night so we didn't start the party until 8:30 at night. The six of us sat at the table for dinner, then cake, then presents. The best part of the day, for me, was after all of the partyings were done and I was cleaning up. Anne stayed. She stayed at the table and talked and talked, just to me, all about her day and the things on her mind. I love her like crazy.
