About Me

This morning I went out and took care of some christmas things before the storm hit. I bought boxes and paper and ribbon, and then refilled our food stores for the storm...sandwich fixings, frozen pizzas, eggs, milk and bread. I don't know when I will be able to drive again, and it's best to be prepared. Now the storm is here, and thankfully everyone is home, except for Anne, and I am anxiously waiting for her arrival. The storm just looks so terrible. I'm saying a prayer for the bus driver and the bus. I am going to put on some hot chocolate.

I wrapped twenty presents today. Every year I switch up my present wrapping. Some years I insist on real ribbon, but this year, those gift bows you can buy seem festive and happy. Dear Mira has been my helper. She is making handmade gift tags. I am always amazed by her talent.

Now I am waiting out the storm, and thankful for a home, and a husband who can work from home, and good movies and books, and cheery neighbors, and snow boots, and four wonderful children.

Mmmm, sandwich fixings. Milk. Bread. Any groceries at all, for that matter. I put off grocery shopping for one day, and then it was out of the question. We had a pretty pathetic dinner of leftovers.

I wish we had been at your house yesterday, with hot chocolate and good company.

I made chocolate chip cookies on that snowy day and they were delish. The secret is dark brown sugar instead of the light. Oh and adding a little more flour. And pecans.
And chocolate chips.
Milk.
