I grew up with this kid named Peter Bauman; his shoulders bounced when he laughed, he would figit, smile easily, and was super smart. He owned an entire CD collection before I knew what a CD was. Later, he became good friends with my little brother Chris; Chris was way cooler than me, and I'd gotten knocked up so was raising a family instead of hanging out in friends bedrooms listening to music. Chris and Pete both live in New York City and get together for Thanksgiving.
Now this weird phenomenon. There is a new Peter. This geologist from L.A. has come to teach Earth Systems at my school. His shoulders bounce when he laughs, he figits, he smiles easily, is super smart. (And got married at the top of the stratosphere this weekend.) He looks like Peter too. Rough around the edges, but basically just a teddy bear. He is in love with rocks and land forms. Of course, he's not Peter. He's Matt.
And I'm really glad to have him around.

I love your description of Pete! It's perfect. I'm glad that you have another "Peter" around to keep you company.
