About Me

Well, Darlings. I've missed you.

Long time no see.

These are the girls. The Mexican, The French, The American/Just Got Home from Germany. Super fun having them around. There is no better teenager to vicariously live through than Anne.

I got a perfect job teaching ninth grade English. Three schools were vying for me which made me feel loved after a year of feeling like the biggest reject. I picked the best school. (And I have a corner room with floor to ceiling windows on two walls and mountain views.) It is going to be a great year where we learn about utopias, banning books, carpe diem, Helen Keller, and Romeo and Juliet. My mind is bursting with creative energy. Please post your favorite lessons/to-doings from your high school English class. I am collecting ideas. (LJ and Kelsey, Ideas. Please?)

And, if you have bookshelves you want to get rid of, donate them to my classroom!

Lots more is going on here, too. For instance, I am learning how to quilt. Anne and Harrison's love lives are infinitely interesting. I spent a weekend floating down a river. Chantel is moving to Germany. Hooray/Booooo!

Well, Darlings. I've missed you.

See you soon.

How fun! I still remember my 9th grade English teacher and she had a huge impact on me and I would have to say was ultimately the reason I majored in it in college. Congrats to you, you will certainly be a teacher like that!

congrats!! You will be a great teacher! Also, I have 2 bookshelves from the 70's if you want them...they were my parents and they are in great shape. Dark wood, and tall...let me know!

Wow Erica, Congrats!!! I want to take 9th grade English from you. Can I? I spent my 9th grade year in China at the International school. My teacher was Canadian. We read Catcher in the Rye, The Bell Jar and Farenheit 451. Depressing group eh?
