Here is a snippet from the email I got from Anne today.
Guess what? I am popular.
Every person in Hedersleben knows me. Today, I didn't go with everybody to the Fußball game. (I went to one earlier.) When Evan and Lucas got back, they said, "Anne, we're playing Fußball tomorrow and you're coming." I nodded, "sounds like a plan." Then Evan said, "If you don't come, we can't play."
"What do you mean?"
"The firefighters said that they won't play unless you come."
I started to laugh. The "firefighters" are the twenty year olds. Marco, Florian, Janjan (sp?). They are very funny to talk to. I met them a couple days after I got here and we've all been good friends. Then the other teenagers (14,15,16,17 yrs) chill outside the Kloster and when someone comes out, they say, "Wo ist Anne?" and the exchange students come find me.
I feel beautiful.
I have never felt this beautiful in my whole entire life. I look at myself and think, "Wow. I really stand out." At first I didn't know what it was. Why I felt so different and beautiful. Then it hit me.
I believe in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. And that's why I'm beautiful. Arise, shine, for your light has come.

I can't think of anything else to say.
Why is your blog my place of refuge lately? I just got dressed for church. And church in Austin (moreso that usual) is so far frustrating. Devastating. Discouraging. Disheartening.
But then I read what Anne has to say, and I remember that I know too.
You tell your beautiful Anne that we love her! This email needs to be in the New Era or some other publication. Seriously. What a great compliment to you and Charles! What great parents to have such great kids! Love you guys
