Mira learned the F word

Mira learned the F word.

She pulled me aside during our dinner party and said, "Mom I have to tell you something. I learned the F word." Her face was very sad. "How. What happened?"

She was with the kids at the party, two darling boys, and the conversation went along these lines. "What is the best word and what is the worst word?" Mira knew immediately which is the best word. "Love." she said, "And the worst word is probably the F word, but I don't even know what that word is."

And before she knew, darling boy spelled it out for her, F---. And then she knew it. It was in her brain. It rhymed with luck.

I tried not to laugh when she told me. Was I successful? I can't remember.

She was mean to the boy for the rest of the night. The boy that taught her the F word. There's love for ya.

"I just didn't want to learn the F word while I'm still so young," she told me later that night.

I know. I know. I understand.

We gave her snuggles, and a blessing, and then Charles and I tucked ourselves in bed to watch the british office.

Poor Mira. It's such a hopeless world.

It does feel like a hopeless world sometimes. How sweet of Mira though to know that it was something she would never be able to unlearn. It's like she recognized she had lost a little bit of innocence. Sounds like one special little girl. Here's hoping you never hear that word from her lips. :)

I came home crying in Kindergarten because I heard someone say the S word. It was shut-up.
So what is the F word?

I over heard a little conversation yesterday. Ella said, "Just tell me what it is." Mira, "No." Ella, "But what if I accidently say it." Mira, "Trust me, its better not to know. I wish I didn't."
