I'm Proud to be an American

Women Voters 1917

Today marked a historical event in the life of me. I voted for a Republican. I cast my vote for Governor Huntsman because the democrat running is a dip-wad. If it were not for this one vote, I could have marked a straight democratic ticket like I do in every other election.

I'm proud to be an American today, because Starbucks (who is giving away free coffee if you vote) respected my religious wackiness and gave me hot chocolate instead. Freedom and commerce reign true. Glory and halleluja. Let freedom ring!

Holy crap. I read, "I voted for a Republican," and my heart stopped. I thought you meant John McCain. Fortunately, I kept reading before I died.

I wish I had fireworks today. Maybe I'll wear my Obama t-shirt. God bless America!

Momentous occasion! I didn't do a straight ballot either. I feel like this is the first election that I have really explored how I feel and voted based on more than what my parents were probably voting for. It made me feel like such an adult. I'm glad that Starbucks gave you a free hot chocolate instead. How nice of them. :)
