My Darling Consumer

Here is a list of my purchases this week. One bag from www. clutterbags.com/etsy. two keds from Famous Footwear. Seven Hollyhocks from Millcreek gardens, and one suit from Target. Oh how I love my stuff, let me count the ways. So this morning I'm checking Kathryn's blog which tips me off to www.storyofstuff.com. I spend twenty minutes watching this clip and realize that I have been duped! What I thought was giving me a unique sense of style is really making me your standard American resource guzzling consumer. (I'm definitely showing this clip to my globalization class!) I thought I was green for living in this forward thinking development, buying brown eggs, organic yogurt and making chocolate chip cookies from scratch. And now to find that I am dead wrong. But oh consumerism the times we have shared! My love, my darling, right after I buy a black bow to go with Mira's pink and black fall wardrobe, a sweet Aubade I will write for you!
